Title: The Count of Monte Cristo

Shoot Dates: September - October 2021, based on actor’s schedules (see below)

Pay: $125/day, non-union

Shooting Location: Saint Paul, MN

Roles: 33 roles, character breakdown HERE

About the Project: An webseries adaptation of the novel by Alexandre Dumas. Approximately 100 episodes, each 5-7 minutes long. It's a story of revenge, with complex (and sometimes convoluted) plots and deceits, with one or two high-melodrama love stories thrown in.

Because this project was designed during the summer of 2020, we will be shooting most scenes with only one actor at a time. Each day of shooting will be focused on filming one character with a crew member off-camera assisting as scene partner for the actor.

To be considered for a role, please record yourself, on camera, reading THIS excerpt from the script or your own monologue (classical if possible), and share it to us with your availability and which roles you are interested in using THIS form. If you cannot record yourself for any reason, please email us using the address above and we will find alternative methods! Please submit your recording by August 6, 2021. For questions, please email sixelementstheatre@gmail.com.

Some notes on casting: All roles are available. All characters in our breakdown are of not-yet-defined race and ethnicity; preference in casting will be given to creating a diverse world of characters portrayed by a diverse cast of performers, especially for major parts. The same applies to body type/physical ability. While some characters have assigned genders, or ages, anyone who feels they could play those characters are encouraged to audition for them.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
