“She Kills Monsters” by Qui Nguyen

She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans as she leaves her childhood home in Ohio following the death of her teenage sister, Tilly. When Agnes finds Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, however, she finds herself catapulted into a journey of discovery and action-packed adventure in the imaginary world that was her sister’s refuge.

In 2015, Six Elements Theatre presented the Minnesota premier of She Kills Monsters. That same year, we saw the release of Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition and the start of Critical Role. In the ten years since, the world has whole-heartedly embraced this genre of collaborative storytelling. There has also been incredible growth in stagecraft; access to stage combat training in the Twin Cities has been steadily improving, and intimacy direction has become an industry standard across the board.

We’re excited to get our hands on this work again to push the limits of what we can do, and show our audiences this incredible story of growing, grieving, and getting messy.

Performances will take place at the Historic Mounds Theatre in Saint Paul from September 26th - October 4th.
