Situated near downtown Minneapolis, MN, the workshop is easily accessible and nestled in one of the most vibrant performing arts communities in the country.
The Brawl of America is a two-day stage combat workshop operated as a project of Six Elements Theatre and sanctioned by the Society of American Fight Directors. Taking place May 27-28 at the University of Minnesota’s Rarig Center in Minneapolis, the Brawl gives students an opportunity to take classes in a variety of disciplines at all skill levels. Workshop staff gather from across the country to run special sessions on fighting for film, historical swordplay, as well as the foundational elements of slaps, punches, chokes, falls, and so much more.
Come learn from stage combat veteran, Advanced Actor Combatant with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD), Aaron Preusse, and learn how to safely convey stories and technique with one of the most brutal weapons in the fight director's armory.
